those would be some pretty sweet shirts, except i wouldnt be able to wear one!

well, if someone here wanted to give me plane fare and a free weekend, i would be down there tomorrow!(or at least by the start of summer), but its looking like the olympics in Vancouver is gonna be the first "date" !

is this the first matchup between a catholic and a noncatholic on this site? i can see some issues there but nothing that isnt worth working on!

I would CRY if someone gave YOU the free airfare... :P (not that you don't deserve it...)

Also: I was gonna mention this, actually and you kinda made a segue for me. Thanks! :))

Missy and Phil (who is also not (yet) Catholic (and actually I would say ask for their MSN info. Cuz they are just cool people anyway) will also tell you this (and probably James and Sarah and I know Micah and Jennie and Sean and Laura and Amy and Nick and Becky(?) and Jason [is that everyone?] would also tell you this) but, prayer is KEY. The day (or the next Monday idk which) after Jeff said something (I was all "woah" and  and  and  and :scream: ) and I was in class and the professor opened with THIS prayer (click) and that's the one we use all the time. Occasionally we also do novenas (and... :hehe: Phil can tell about their efficacy, even for non-Catholics :hehe: :topsy: )

Cuz... yeah it's tough and... no.. it doesn't really get any easier (at least not for me, heh). Some days I find myself accidentally glaring at couples... And the worse days are when you don't talk at all :sadwalk: But yeah... pray together.

(also... I love it when we actually get to pray together on the phone (or skype), especially when Jeff leads. :) )

It does get easier...the longing gets worse with time, but the being apart becomes almost normal. It shouldn't be that way, but after two years P and I have settled down and are biding our time until my Mom gives up and lets him make the trip.

Luckily the two of us combined have her beat in stubbornness! :D

To Nick & Christie: Pray. EVERY SINGLE DAY. If not for God this wouldn't have even lasted 3 months. You really need to make Him the center of your relationship...considering nothing is impossible with God and all. ;)

When I first came up for a visit, I knew it would not have been appropriate for me to stay at his house, and we couldn't afford for me to stay at a hotel for weeks at a time. I asked him to find a widow at church who wouldn't mind a house guest. That's where I stayed. I cooked and helped her with her small business for my keep, and it didn't cause any kind of scandal. At our age, no one would have thought anything about me staying at his house, but sometimes it's nice to try to set a proper example.

If you found somewhere else for him to stay, how would your mom feel then?
yeah, like a tent!
My sister's fiance did that. We were traveling with my dad (and him, by extension) who worked on the railroad (dad and future b.i.l. both did) and we had the camper and he had a tent.

He took a ton of poo from the guys on the railroad...
