puellapaschalis
Some friends and I are reading through Jesus of Nazareth throughout Lent (and Easter...it's that big and we're that busy). I think I'm going to have to give up forums, including Phatmass, and severely restrict my blogging and blog-reading. Really need to purify more time for prayer over here! But I also think that if I do that then I should sit down and write something out and be really explicit and detailed about it - otherwise I'll find it hard to stick to it. Does anyone else have that? Oh yea - and irc's gotta go. There's no-one I speak to on there with any kind of regularity who I couldn't just see after having cycled for ten minutes. It's pure laziness. Edited February 2, 2009 by puellapaschalis

Didacus
Same as every year for me: Stop smoking and stop drinking. Its a long 45 days for me, but I get by.
Archaeology cat
Last year I said the Chaplet of St Gertrude every day, and I might do that again. I'm still working on it, though.
cmotherofpirl
Can we have a weekly check -in thread for Lent even for those cutting back on the internet? So we can encourage each other? Usually by the second or third week we could all use some help on our resolutions.
Saint Therese
I think spending more time in prayer and attending Mass more often, as well as volunteering at my Church would be more effective for me. I mean, if you give up something but aren't prayerful, what benefit is there? (Seriously.)
MissyP89
I'm probably going to do what I did last year, cutting out snacks after dinner. Additions...a Bible study with my other half, for sure. As for my private devotions, no idea.
Vincent Vega
Would being enrolled in a scapular and starting to pray those prayers be a good idea?
homeschoolmom
I'm giving up pop (which is what I did last year). Even though it was tough, I did it and then went right back to 'em like a fiend on Easter. I'm starting earlier this year (like two weeks ago). I'm also going to try to devote an hour a day to serious cleaning/organizing the house. It should look pretty good when I'm done. Maybe I'll listen to a rosary cd or a divine mercy chaplet while I work.... ... or maybe I'll watch LOST reruns.... Okay... no, I won't do that.
