I would say technology and the availablility of similar items has progressed to the point that this is interesting, but no longer amazing. Second, it's not a toy, but a tool. It may be played with as a toy, but its toyness is based on perception, whereas its toolness is inherent. If I don't debate with you, the thread will be moved.
