I think I used the term "draconian" to refer to the legal system and "victim of sexual assault" for the woman. If the distinction between a judgement with regards to what happened to this poor woman and asking about the basis for your judgements about Islamic sharia and fiqh is elusive for you just let me know and I'll try to clear it up. Why don't you try putting two and two together. Maybe this woman was raped by a married man and this is the reason for the accusation of adultery. The point is, the raped woman is almost ALWAYS the criminal in Sharia law. Splitting hairs over definitions matters not when the end result is that a victim of a heinous crime was blamed and brutally punished. And this happens on a regular basis in heavily Islamic countries. It even happens in countries that are only minority Muslim, as seen here--all reported yesterday and today--ironically, Valentine's Day. I guess this is what it means to feel the love in Islam.
