How exciting! ^_^ I think I know what I'll do! I think I am going to give up the internet (except for school work and email, of course) and take up morning and evening devotions. OOOH!!! I could choose a devotion to focus on! Like the Infant of Prague, or the Passion of Christ... ^_^ SO EXCITED!!!!! :woot:

I'm giving up cracking my knuckles and I'm planning to spend at least 10 minutes in prayer.
Awesome!!! :smokey:

But you have to give up something that would be challenging.
I prefer to add something rather than quit something. Still, I'm toying with the idea of giving up meat entirely for lent.
I had thought of that as well, but since I try to limit greatly my carbs to start with, I would end up living on broccoli, carrots, and yogart for 4 weeks.

I think I will actually make efforts to do stuff around the house (and maybe get a job) and either trying to get up earlier (and going to bed earlier!) and seeing about doing something healthy, like a jog every once in a while. The only thing I need to give up is the internet. That is going to be something very hard to do. If anything, I will be mastering self-control this Lent. :)

I'm still deciding what I'm going to do. I want it to be something meaningful and affective.
I guess a good way to think of something would be to think of what your major or chief fault is and think of a penance that helps you with that. Plus, I think extra prayer is always good.
Especially something like stations of the Cross or adoration.

trying to give up: fast food and junk food, soda, alcohol, and a few personal bad habits.

trying to add: attending daily Mass a couple times a week, praying the rosary/lenten meditations/other prayers, going to the gym
