I was thinking about those lightening bolts that hit Rome in that movie "The Core." I'm thinking that is what it would take for her to get it. She had a sit down with her bishop that accomplished nothing.
That movie was the most ridiculously implausible Hollywood sci-fi flick in the history of entertainment.

Thy Geekdom Come
"It is with great joy that my husband, Paul, and I met with his Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI today," Pelosi said in a statement released hours after the meeting. "In our conversation, I had the opportunity to praise the Church's leadership in fighting poverty, hunger and global warming, as well as the Holy Father's dedication to religious freedom and his upcoming trip and message to Israel. I was proud to show his Holiness a photograph of my family's papal visit in the 1950s, as well as a recent picture of our children and grandchildren."
Anyone else find it funny that she comments on how she was praising him for all the good things he's done, as if to say the United States has been ahead of the Church in those departments and she felt the need to give him a little gold-star sticker and an A+ for effort?

Maybe that wasn't where she was coming from, but it's the image I get in my head.

Spin.

I believe the proper term is "public image enhancer".

That was my first reaction too. Arrogance?

See, this is why we shouldn't let women run for office. Give them an opportunity to talk about important stuff, and instead they start showing pictures of the grandkids.

Oh well, when she goes back to business as usual, she can always claim that there must have been a communication/translation issue because she can't remember the Pope saying anything about abortion.

Can't be a translation issue; Pope Benedict XVI speaks fluent English.
