Wow, um, I didn't follow the Oscars at all. A couple of glances at the news here and there, saw Winslet headline for her win, mostly I was just curious to see if Ledger won.
You saw a lot more than I did... I was too busy not caring. :)
I enjoy movies, but really -- I could care less about an elite, bigamous, borderline incestuous, drugged up coked-out group that live lifestyles and spend enough money to feed a small country and want to patronize and spoonfeed us peons with an "agenda" -- whatever it happens to be according to the times. No thanks.
Now, when it comes to money, fame, incest, and addictions... that's why the Bible and medieval history is so interesting! But the Oscars are just boring.

Can I just say that Christianity was certainly not the only religion that was mocked.

I realize it is a cult, but Scientology had a thinly veiled attack also.

And I believe I remember someone saying something against Muslims too.

I guess, for myself, I accept that people are given their right to say almost whatever they choose when they win an Oscar. If someone praises God, good for them. If someone attacks religion, it just reflects who they are (no matter how flawed).

RIGHT ON. Such a small minority having such power over the masses, TV is way too powerful for its own good.

Why watch such non-sense?

I turned my TV on to see Steve Martin's helariousness, his quote something like "they say a well writen work never dies" - the man who wrote that is now dead. HAHAH

Then when he left i turned it off again.

Wow. I can't believe this is getting applause. This is rude at best. Completely judging people's motives an lifestyles when you don't even know them.

I am not in any way suggesting Hollywood lifestyles are wonderful. All I am saying is that we have no right to bunch everyone into a group with this type of judgment on them. There are several "stars" that don't fit into this group.

How would you feel if someone said "I could care less about a bunch of pedofile, hypocritical, high and mighty elitists that have so much money in their "Churches" that could feed a small country and want to spoonfeed us their "agenda" "??? Certainly this would be absolutely unacceptable to say about Catholics, or anyone.

There are many people in Hollywood that do good for the world.

Do I agree with the croutons that some stars push? Absolutely not. But I certainly feel no need to insult the whole group of people because of the views and agendas of a few.

Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman was freakin awesome. Didn't watch the oscar's, but watched on youtube Jackman's 2 muscial numbers and they were great!!! Oh and Ledger won. Those two things easily cancel out Maher.
