Short Prayers To Jesus

Throughout the day I like to recite short prayers to Christ. I try to be spontaneous and creative, yet often I cannot so I have a few I like to fall back on. I'll share them here but I am hoping you will all share yours so we can diversify:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

O Blood and Water which gushed
forth from the Heart of Jesus,
as a font of mercy for us, I trust in You.

Praise and honor and glory be to Jesus Christ,
Who is meek, mild, bold and powerful,
Who is renown, and shall be renown,
The King, now and even forever.

And sometimes I like to say some variation of a part of Saint Patrick's Breastplate prayer:

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me . . .
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

hmm... I like to steal short clips from other prayers. especially the DMC.

I can get romantic and listen to a love song and it reminds me of Jesus and my relationship with him. This may sound lame but in the song Can You Feel the Love Tonight there's this one line in it that really hits home for me. "It's enough for this wrestless warrior just to be with you." It reminds me of St. Augustine's famous quote, "Our hearts were made for You Oh Lord, and they are restless until they rest in you."
