The book[i] Architects of the Culture of Death[/i] is critical of Ayn Rand for preaching Individualism. The authors mistaken Individualism for selfishness (maybe the fact that Rand preaches "the virtue of selfishness" confused them). Rand preached a positive hedonism;and not the characteristic cartoonist hedonism that many think of when someone says "I am an Individualist."

[i]Architects[/i] doesn't get into Rand's views on abortion because Rand didn't spend much time on life issues--it wasn't important to her. Those matters were not a part of her mission. Her views were sadly consistent with the way much of science saw embryos--a blob of cells.

I suppose that Rand's philosophy is so radical that the acceptance only makes sense.

Of course now I'm even more disappointed with her than I was before.

Terry Goodkind is against abortion, I think. From reading his books, that's what I think.
