Hassan
Back in my youth I was a Sacrastine (for volunteerzies). Anyway as I was purifying the Eucharist stuff (like plates, wine class, glass bottles that hold water and wine before consecration, this was before the Pope said only Priests could do this) my Priest came in and we started talking. As I was finishing up my Priest said to me, "Will, I feel bad! You come in here on your weekend, you run the collection, you talk care of the lights, you set up the alter etc. And you don't even ask for money!" By this point I had finished my washing and was drying up my hands. As I walked out I said, "That's alright Father, if it makes you feel any better I steal from the collection" I still don't know if he understood I was joking I ono, I just remembered that

Hassan
haha
yeah, I also remembered the other Priest. In West Virginia I broke my crucifix, being a good Catholic I asked him what to do with it (it was a blessed Benedictine one), he looked at it a second and said, "uhh, probably get a refund). He was a funny guy
CatherineM
When I was a sacristan, I once starched the back of his alb with an entire block of starch. He liked coming in at the last minute to avoid chit chat before mass, and had this rack that we had to put alb and chasuble on so he could step into it in one motion like a fireman putting on his pants and boots in one motion. He didn't notice until he sat down to a very loud crack noise. My mom had to make him a new alb.
takebacktonight
Lookin back, I was one of the worst altar servers ever! Thank goodness our priest had a sense of humour..anyone else and we would have been shot. We would never sit still....whispered that the Eucharistic Ministers were Eucharistic frisbee throwers... and when the priest asked us what we thought of the homily we told him it was too long. I feel so dirty just thinking about it. Talk about the products of near non-existent Catechism...

Once I was in their house/office thing and he asked me for some feedback on his one for the upcomming Sunday. So I got to listen to the whole long thing several times. Loads of fun. My priest gave like....the shortest homilies ever. And in the summertime...get this... 15 minute mass. No homily. He figured it's better than people just skipping. No....our church was not exactly a model of Catholic othodoxy
That's ok, tbtnight. He once told an aboriginal girl during her confirmation that he wasn't an 'indian giver' (which in this part of Canada is really politically incorrect)

Not saying God wouldn't be worth it cause He is! Though the Church is there to reform the people not the people to reform the Church. However even a Latin Mass is only 1 1/2 when there are loads of people at my Church! Pax~
