I was just thinking how wonderful it would be (I mean, as a best case scenario to fix a situation that is really, really very messed up) if like, 3 or 4 couples in the same community could take 2 or 3 of the kids each, and raise them as their own but have continual contact with each other. That way the kids would be growing up in the same community and going to the same schools, etc. And the adoptive families could rely on each other for a support system. It would really be like that saying, "It takes a village..."!

I wasn't aware of option #3. Is there a bit of canon law or a document stating such that you can point me toward? (I believe your authority on this, btw. I just want to have it the info handy when it comes up in conversation with my friends.)

Thank you so much! I like how much I am learning about the Faith here.

Yeah, until Dignitas Personae came out, many medical ethicists and moral theologians had debated about embryo adoption. My bishop back home allowed a couple I knew to adopt a couple. It is a serious double edged sword, and DP settled it, no adoption of embryos.
