takebacktonight
Does anyone know if there is a Catholic Etsy group? (Etsy is a shopping site for independent artists and designers) Here's a list of really cool shops: I have tried my best to choose authentic-ish shops.. (because apparently there's a lot of punk rawk "let's paste a dog's head on the Virgin" stuff) Misc: Saintly Silver Joan of Arc Pillow super cute baby hairclips! St. Peregrine Priest ...Interesting... Do you have pictures of them? I might like to buy from you For etsy, I think it costs a few cents per item to list and 3% of each sale...but don't quote me on that. There are tons of other rosary shops but I couldn't list them all. There are also tons of quality supply shops that are inexpensive, too. I sound like a salesperson, I just find the stuff I buy there is so much better than in stores.

I sometimes use crosses that belonged to someone's grandmother, that kind of thing.

I have thought of a couple different things. I would like a shop that could build up the Kingdom of God without the people who are buying from it really knowing, ya know? I really think I would enjoy designing and crochet and/or sewing children's clothing and accessories. I love the idea of making clothing for little girls. Things that would be modest and age-appropriate for them but colorful, contemporary, and affordable. Something they would really like to wear... princessey. Something that would make it fun for little girls to dress like and remain little girls! I have also thought of designing women's clothing with a flashback/retro vibe. Very girly. Very modest. It would just be a side-hobby shop though and maybe it will never come about... There are so many young Christian and Mormon designers coming out now and opening up their own shops on the net. Like Christa Taylor. She is such an inspiration. I love my faith. I love to create. I love fashion. I love "the good ol' days..." I would want to bring it all together in whatever I created...
takebacktonight
Cool! There is so much kids stuff it would be easy to get ideas.. I LOVE the clothes on etsy but rarely can I afford to buy anything (especially now, prices have shot way up in the last year). I had never heard of Christa Taylor before. Her stuff is so gorgeous! I've always tended towards more modest stuff, even in my super left-wing anything goes days, but my major problem is that I am bigger *ahem* 'up top' so the tops that cover usually don't fit or just sort of defeat the point. If you can solve that problem, you have my money! Forgot to add: There is actually a lot of cool muslim clothing out there as well. They don't wear anything tight so there are lots of pretty tunics and flowy pants and stuff. Even if it's just for inspiration...
