ooh..for that Box..

When I was searchin last night someone was selling downloadable images of female saints... I didn't add her because I didn't have a chance to look closely at the shop.

A wooden box from Michael's..some mod podge, and a printer could get you that box (:

I totally missed the Mary's Prayers shop! Thanks for posting. All of these icons and people... I only have the vaguest idea who any of them are.

Oh, here are some more things that are in my "favorites"

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12000571

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=17412189

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=17059713 - I love St. Mary Magdalene. I don't really like the first two, but the one that is more renaissance-y I like. She is in like a dark red color.

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18760262 - liked the message. St. Joan said it. Not really a fan of the style, but yeah...

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5450209 - favorite-ed her because I think she is Catholic and because I love her style. She made these purses (you could only wear with a formal gown) when I first came upon her store and it had a medal of Our Lady on it. I think she really likes Marie Antoinette (who I consider a great, Catholic queen) and she has an obvious devotion to our Lady. She kind of reminds me of the blog: http://teaattrianon.blogspot.com/ ... yeah, but she mostly makes corsets (which I wouldn't ever buy), but they are beautiful from an artistic outlook.

Oh decoupage is easy..especially on wood!

If you look closely at the box, she's simply chosen a nice scrapbook/ decoupage paper for the background, cut some fleur de lys strips for the edges..and went from there...

You would use an x-acto knife to cut the detailed parts like St. Joan.

Mod podge acts as a glue and a sealant...but if you're planning on using printed images it might be best to test how it will react with the ink. Some inks may run...in which case you might be able use the mod podge to glue them down and then do a light coat of a spray sealant (you can find all this stuff at wal-mart no problem).

It would be a fun saturday project for sure!

More cool links! Wow...I mostly have jewelry and ceramics in mine.

The aceo card was cute! I wonder if Catholic aceo cards are cool. I think my father told me that there used to be saint trading cards...or maybe I totally made that up and saw it on the Simpsons

Last link: wow! That's a lot of lace! Not my style but she's obviously talented.

Who knew there was so much out there, eh? The needlework is amazing. If I were a rich lady, I'd probably buy that.

Anything printed with an ink jet printer will run, laser jet, not so much.

I do ACEOs! Haven't seen many Catholic ACEOs out there. Artsy saint trading cards are a good/cute idea :)

I just bought an icon necklace of St. Christina the Astonishing. I couldn't resist.

I had never heard of her before going to that store, so I looked her up, and I like her a lot!

I had never heard of her either (not surprisingly).

According to wikipedia, the poor girl put herself through a lot of pain!
