Either way, I don't care to join the crowds of pro-lifers that are now turning against her as quickly as they supported her. I prefer to consistently support life than inconsistently support politicans.
I concur. However, I think that people are just a tad surprised because for Palin, it seemed like being pro-life was such a big thing....I'm mildly "eyebrow raisingly" surprised, but not, NO WAY! LouisvilleFan
I agree...but I don't see how that is relevant to this thread or to your comments.
Palin never struck me as someone to be taken very seriously. I'm glad she's a strong supporter of pro-life efforts, but that doesn't mean I like her.
However, I think that people are just a tad surprised because for Palin, it seemed like being pro-life was such a big thing....I'm mildly "eyebrow raisingly" surprised, but not, NO WAY!
It is an odd move from that standpoint. Now, the article did say that Planned Parenthood never performed abortions in Alaska during the 90s, so maybe if that was the case this woman would never have served on the board. Maybe she's had some change of heart since then. Maybe Palin sees no reason to be concerned that a pro-choice activist judge in Alaska having the opportunity to decide any cases that will set or change a precedent (unlike, say, South Dakota, California, or some other pro-life battleground state). Maybe Palin isn't the uber-pro-lifer she's made herself out to be... a lot of possibilities out there.

I think that before people start to judge, they have to have all the facts as to this woman's current status, as well as Palin's reasons. Not everything is as it seems on the surface all the time. sweens8403
Everybody says there's no room for idealism in politics. Well why not? Why does there have to be wheeling/dealing? Why can't people just stick to their principles no matter if its inconvenient or not? Why can't they just talk straight with us on the campaign trail instead of giving eloquent speeches that don't do much more than stir up the ignorant masses. The mentality of politicians just escapes me. Vote for Sweens8403 King and Tyrant in 2010. Palin, for shame... It is my personal opinion that every elected official should have to complete a checklist questionaire before they are allowed on the campaign trail. A simple list of questions with yes/no only replies: Do you support abortion? yes/no Do you support gun control? yes/no Do you support gay marriage? yes/no so on and so forth Is it so much to ask for a politician to actually tell you what they believe? They are supposed to be our representatives afterall. I'm sick of having to read between the lines and pick apart their speeches to then make an educated GUESS at what they believe and stand for. Hassan
I can't say I'm suprised. I also wasn't suprised when Obama went to speak at AIPAC I was, and continue to be, when people actually bought her contrived non-sense of being a regular joe hocky mom just standing up for good Christian values against that godless secular media and liberal left.
