Lounge Daddy
It may not be on the same level, but I think it's worth mentioning. Pro-Life Outrage over Sebelius Pick Mounts as Brownback Reaffirms Support
Yup. A Republican is loyal to the party first -- ideologies take a back seat every time. And right now the party leadership is left of center, and even socialist. And many of the same Democrat funders are also financing the GOP. Including Kerry and George Soros. Its many of the same people at the top of both parties. That's why I say the U.S. is a single party state. That's why some people, like Nader, call it the "republicrat party." The elections have just become a game, and it's the same people at the top no matter which "party" wins.
Lil Red
LD, I'd like a response about my post: +J.M.J.+ from what i understand, she had her choice of two people to pick. perhaps she chose the lesser of two evils, or chose the one that she wouldn't have to fight to get into their office. it's sad that everyone here (seems) to be jumping to conclusions. here's a link: http://hotair.com/archives/2009/03/06/hear...-supreme-court/
Palin has a month and a half to choose the next member of Alaska’s State Supreme Court. The problem is the two choices she has to pick from are justices who don’t align with her conservative views. Alaska’s judges are selected using the Missouri Plan, which combines election and appointment in choosing the judge. The Alaska Judicial Council selects the nominees from which the governor can then make an appointment. A total of six judges applied, but only two were elected by the Judicial Council, Eric Smith, considered very liberal, and Morgan Christen, who is viewed as more of a moderate.
here's another informative link: http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/03...reme-court.html
XIX
I don't see how it isnt. Despite his sarcasm, Louisville makes a good point, to put all this trust that politicians are actually going to act in the best interest of the people is a tad naive. You can be surprised, but Im not.
I don't think anybody is that surprised. Some of us might be a little dissappointed or "a bit surprised" but nobody in their right mind actually "put all of their trust in Palin." We are Christians. we understand the whole "no idolatry" thing. Nobody is more than a little surprised. I thought Louisville's comments at the start of the thread were out of place, out of character and a bit condescending. And they had nothing to do with politics other than bragging about how he was right and "all of us conservatives were wrong to trust her" (even though it's a stretch to say that most of us trusted her) "boo hoo" is not a valid political opinion. Neither are strawmen.
Hey now... don't say anything against Palin or you might need to "re-examine if your political views are in line with your Catholic faith."
I'm even more confused than ever. Would you mind clarifying your post? Are you saying that I would question a person's faith just for saying anything bad about Palin? Frankly, if people were overzealous about supporting Palin, it's because she was way better than anything else that came out of that joke of an election year. And she still is better than Obama and McCain--it's not close. She could debate in a kilt and I'd still have more respect for her than McCain/Obama/Biden/Guiliani/Hilary/whoever. That says more about the other candidates than it says about Palin, just to be clear.

XIX
I didn't say it's wrong to "say anything bad about Palin." I said it is wrong to "care about issue X more than abortion." Especially when that issue really has nothing to do with anything important. And that is Church teaching. Clearly. And I didn't say you were doing that. In fact, I qualified "if" you do that. Maybe I should have added "if not, then you're cool." iono?
