Lil Red
+J.M.J.+ i know there's been a lot of depressing news lately, both in the Church and in the world. and it's easy to focus only on the bad and depressing news in the Church and in the world, and not pay attention to the good. so this thread is for posting good and spiritually uplifting news in the Church, in the world, and in our lives. post away! Lil Red
+J.M.J.+ i'll start. a quote from Pope Benedict on International Women’s Day:
“Today’s date, invites us to reflect on the condition of women and to renew our commitment, that always and everywhere every woman can live and fully manifest her particular abilities, obtaining complete respect for her dignity…Today I pledge my prayer for all women, that they be evermore respected in their dignity and valued in their positive possibilities.”

CatherineM
In our church: We have two preparing to be baptized at Easter. One is Jewish, so that seems extra special somehow. Plus, he's from Oklahoma too, so now I won't be the only one with a weird accent around. In the world: Baseball season is getting ready to start, and Tiger Woods is finally back from knee surgery. In my life: Sales of my book have hit 6500.

Sojourner
We will be closing in a week on a new house with LOTS of possibilities for us, and we got a fantastic deal on the property because the market is so bad. My husband was working out of his basement for a long while, but grew so much he had to get a commercial property. He misses working at home, though, and this new house has more than enough space for him to operate the business at home again. Plus, it's in a town which has relaxed rules on home businesses. The new place will take a lot of work, but it has a large amount of unfinished space so we have many options for choosing how it will be laid out. We'll probably do a lot of the work ourselves, and with family. It is on a beautiful piece of land, too, with several acres that run up to a lake. Lots of wildlife, and gorgeous trees. My husband's dogs (German shepherds) will really love the space. It also has lots of room for a growing family -- Catholic dozen here we come! Archaeology cat
I've been able to get to Mass every day of Lent so far! And I've even been getting there to pray the Office with the monks most mornings. Kieran has been doing really well going to Mass daily with me, and I have to drag him away after the priest blesses him. It's really funny.
