hoosieranna
Best because of the dangers of every day life, especially childbirth? Best because of rampant disease and armed conflict? Best because of absolute monarchy? I'm happily modern, thank anyway.

I'm pretty sure that the dangers of everyday life weren't much worse than at most other times in history. Anyway, I like monarchy and a lot of armed conflict was noble and just (such as the Crusades, at least those which were approved by the Supreme Pontiff). Also Medieval architecture, music and art is so beautiful. Not to mention the fact that the Catholic Church was THRIVING during the middle ages. They'd heard of washing more than once a year. Pretty sure it was the same year everywhere on the planet. Not sure armed conflict is ever noble. Justified, yes, but not noble. edit: And, I like not being chattel. I'm picky about that sort of thing. Edited March 16, 2009 by Nadezhda
