Saint Therese
After some reflection I've concluded that President Whatsisname isn't very bright. Basically he's an actor who can read a telepromptor.
Dan
What a glorious way to dismantle an all volunteer service. Thank you for signing-up. By the way, if you get hurt at all while deployed, you are on your own -- bandages to reconstructive surgery, you cover it. The fellow reported as president holds the military in the highest level of distain. Let's reduce the military to seven guys who share one gun so we can be identical to the Euroweenies and be subservient to the U.N. Wonderful, simply wonderful. Winchester
I used to not make swipes, but then I solved every argument and got tired of repeating myself. It just isn't fair.
I can't believe some of you are making jokes about this. It is not funny. It is a massive scandal to the Church and a scandal to the Gospel. Dan
Sorry. It was not intended to be a joke. It was intended to be sarcastic. Having a G.I.'s private insurance company pay for wounds sustained in active duty is garbage. The insurance company did not send him/her into harm's way, the government did. It is a long standing contract with the soldiers who protect us all. If something happens to you, your grateful nation will be there to provide for you. Not under this proposal. Nihil Obstat
If private insurance companies had to cover it... would they even insure soldiers, with the risk involved? Seems like a money losing venture for them. Can't work out well.

MIKolbe
Either one of 2 things is true- 1) Obama didn't expect this backlash 2) He expected the backlash and doesn't care either scenario is shameful. We either have an idiot for a president (and possibly a morally deranged one as well). Or, we have a morally deranged person for a president (and possibly an idiot as well)
eagle_eye222001
The president is living up to his ideals. I'm not surprised by this because Obama wants to discourage people from joining the army. Has to be the true reason he is doing this. I mean, there are many other ways to generate the revenue. Just tax the evil corporate companies. ---------------- Listening to: Skillet - Say Goodbye via FoxyTunes

No one would insure someone who flies into space on millions of pounds of fuel on a ship with millions of moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Sounds like the same risk analysis to me if insurance companies have to start paying for soldiers' wounds. "You want us to insure you for injury when people will be shooting at you?" When I have difficulty relating to individuals in a healthy, intimate normal relationship I use humor to creat a bonding like experience while still being able to keep the individial at an arms length. Most likely this was a result of my childhood. My mommy never hugged me enough and papa was a rolling stone, wherever he laid he hat was his home. And when he died all he left us was alone. So I accecpt your criticism. Obviously this is an inappropiate subject to be joking about. While I say Obama is just another politician I think I want to try and avoid the reality that the inflexability, obsitnance, and dishonesty is an established part of our political system, and independent of part affiliation or personality. While liberals like to blame Bush for everything the fact is he didn't do anything the country didnt allow him to do. Whatever sins he commited are as much ours as his seeing as he operated with out sanction. This same political nihilism is present with Obama, no matter who I help elect I'll be perpetuating this whole ugle mess and there is nothing I can really do, within the range of accectable actions, to change it. By useing humor I am not forced to truely embrace this reality. Blah, Blah, Blah The truth is I really have nothing of substance to say, but if I keep talking like I do have a substantive point perhapse I will fool someone. Kitties make me smile. You know Winhester, lately I've really been impressed with your posts. It's like your a whole different individual. One more inteligent, level headed, and I'm even begining to detect a subtle hint of humor in your posts! Can't be good for families of soldiers.
