rkwright Posted March 19, 2009 Share Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) I've been on my spring break, staying with my aunt in Dusseldorf Germany. We took a trip down to Rome. It was great, I've never been! Our hotel in Rome was right next to the columns at St. Peters. So Wednesday morning we walked out of our hotel, and there were a lot of police standing nearby. I asked what was going on and they said the Pope was leaving for Africa, he would be coming up in 15-30 mins. There was a fence there and like 10 people standing there. So we waited, in 15mins 3 cars with all Black (african?) Bishops and Cardinals came out (I bet one was Cardinal Arizine? sp?) about 45 mins later, the Pope's car came out, he slowed down rolled down the window and waved. We were about 10 ft away from him! Amazing! Pics... they're a little dark, but oh well! I'm pretty sure that was Cardinal Arzine in an earlier car, but they didn't slow down or roll the windows down. My dad had the camera, I was too much in the moment! haha!
