Brother Adam Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 I skipped mine out of protest because of a culmination of three things - they do not print our degrees on our diplomas. They literally just say "Bachelor" or "Masters" - the school would not let those of us walk with all of our friends and those we went through all of our classes with in May who needed to finish our degree that summer. They told us we had to wait until the next year and walk with people we did not know and who did not know us - and because I wasn't going to take a 450 mile trip to walk across a stage when I already had my diploma anyway. I may walk for my MA, but we will see. I know several people who protest their MA's at our school because they have commencement in the church and the walk takes place in the sanctuary.
