thessalonian
Please don't move this to the polictical forum. President Oboma was invited and has consented to speak at the Notre Dame commencement. This is truly a scandal and we need to put our foot down and so "WE AINT GONNA TAKE IT NO MORE" from these "Catholic" universities. This man has done more in a couple of months to damage the pro-life cause than any president to date and his has plans to go much further. promoting abortoin on demand through the freedom of choice act, mexico city policy, conscience clause etc. This is an outrage. Please sign the petition below and also call the college president. Write letters, flood notre damned any way you can. Enough is enough folks! Can ya tell I'm po'ed. Resurrexi
This is disappointing. ND such a beautiful campus with an amazing basilica and numerous beautiful chapels, in addition to countless statues of Christ, Our Lady and the Saints. Externally it is so Catholic. thessalonian
Don't they realize this guy is shutting pro-life Catholicism out of all the discussion on health care and the life issue. Yet we invite him in to one of our premeire universities to speak to us! What nonsense.
CatherineM
I'm hoping that they invited him just so that they could publicly un-invite him after the uproar as a way to get a point across to him. I know that's a pipe dream.

tinytherese
Ick, Notre Dame is still regarded as a catholic school? They show the v-monologues for heaven's sake!

Lil Red
+J.M.J.+ i guess i don't understand what the kerfuffle is about. please, spare me the re-iteration of Obama's anti-life stances - i know them. i'm as much against Obama's policies as any good Catholic. i guess i just see this as a university inviting and hoping to land a prestigious speaker (such as the president of the United States) for their commencement ceremony. and honestly, does anyone expect anything remotely Catholic from ND anymore? [/quote] You really have to be kidding me. It is in fact scandalous and the USCCB has forbid such speakers at Catholic Universities and giving them honorary degrees. If these universities no longer hold Catholic values then they need to be detached from the Catholic Church. I find it to be quite a big deal.
