The article, from what I read, was full of "mights" "wills" "won't be able tos"

future tense. nothing has happened and it is all up in the air. it is a rumor that is MIGHT happen.

If it did then boo on Obama and that is rather silly of him, but nothing - as far as we know - has been done or even will be done. it is just a rumor right now.[/quote]

Archbishop Burke is like second in command (our Benny is first :pope: ) and is not afraid to tell "catholic" politicans that they are not Catholic!!!! Burke is shaking up what needs to be shaken-Obama doesn't like (think Biden who claims to be a "catholic"!)

God Bless!

that may be the case. it is the case. however, obama is not trying to stop archbishop burke. the article does not say that and I think the topic name is misleading. The article says "might" "possibly" and stuff like that. It is just a rumor.

The responses are as if Obama is actually doing something, but that has not been confirmed.

I agree with both of you. It is just a rumor and the fact that rumors abound in the media, secular and even Catholic for that matter, is a lesson for us not to place weight on what is reported by mere men whose task it is to report for profit or perhaps political reasons, or influence or gain.

This is especially true in regards to any report of the media concerning the leaders of the Church or any sort of Church teaching. Do not place your trust in their reports. Do not place too much weight on their words. Read them even more critically than you would even read a respected priest or theologian.

In your pan, throw out human media statements since you already seek and possess the gold of truth in Christ. Cast out the worthless pebbles of the pan caught up in the water of the world.

I agree with those who say it is conjecture. Any article that begins with

"A reliable source tells me..." loses much credibility the moment it is spoken, unless I hear it from the lips of the one who spoke, it is all conjecture to me. This is how people get in trouble and not just rumors but slander is spread.
