Nasa In Colbert Conundrum Over Space Station

As a taxpayer and, more importantly, a Colbert aficionado who wrote in Colbert's name for the ISS module name, I insist that NASA do the right thing and give in to the mob.

Awesome... I agree. It would give Colbert a reason to throw in the occasional update on what's happening at the station. He'd probably turn it into a new segment. Anybody can use some positive publicity.

seriously? only a government agency would take itself that super-seriously... they have a team of people working on the question of whether or not to have the module named 'Colbert'... our tax dollars at work... just make a decision!! lol.

Haha. mm hmm. the fluffy pancake and delightable govt is the fluffy pancake and delightable most inefficently run organization int he country. I think the fluffy pancake and delightable taxpayers should insist that the fluffy pancake and delightable governemtn submit a plan for reorganization just as the fluffy pancake and delightable administration is asking of the fluffy pancake and delightable auto makers.

I don't think NASA *really* has a task force or committee working on this. I think that it's more a case of, "we'll just wait a couple of weeks until the furor dies down, then name the module whatever we want in the middle of the night when no one's looking."

It was a pointless exercise. NASA should have just named it whatever they wanted without wasting everyone's time. I wonder how much this boondoggle cost.

Because that was one of their names that they wanted to name it in the first place. However they also staged an election to drive up interest. They figured, they could drive up interest in space, and name it what they wanted to.

Reminds me of what the government does when it wants to do something. It holds several public meetings where they pretend to take public opinion and debate the issue.....however even if all the people are stoutly against it, they end up doing whatever they wanted in the first place.

It's called politics.
