So I just finished up this play I was in!

This play has had alot of struggles.

I am just very tired emotionally

And at moments I want to cry :sadder:

Sound of Music. Lyric Theater. 1975 (I think). Playing the oldest daughter. Backwards into the orchestra pit coming out of a twirl kind of thing. I'm lucky that I didn't get wedged bum first in the tuba.

Like the male lead today was about to say my lines as if he didn't trust me to say it myself!

The Bus Station

I fell through a trap door that I was supposed to climb down during an exit in the middle of a performance. It was lame.

So you have something in common with the actress who played Lisl in the movie. Except she didn't fall into an orchestra pit, she put her foot through a glass window pane when she was doing the "Sixteen going on Seventeen" number. (In the original movie apparently you can see the bandage on her ankle, she sprained it but didn't get any serious cuts, but in the newest DVDs they've digitally edited it out. haha)

Brother Adam

I co-played a lead in Pirates of Penzance back in High school. No one told me anything about their being tights and make up when we actually performed. I threw such a fit that three guys had to hold me down while the make up artists put the make up on me. I still have a picture from the newspaper being caked in make up.

Phantom of the Soap Opera dress rehearsals...I made a rushed entrance, tripped over a wire, and went sliding on my butt across the stage.

That same show, opening night, I got the scenes messed up and entered at the right moment, but delivering the wrong lines...I did recover, though. :)

Just got finished doing Arsenic And Old Lace for UIL One Act competition. I was Elaine. It was really depressing because we only made it to the second level before we stopped advancing. And the judge told us that we did everything amazingly well and later we heard that he told the play that beat us that he only advanced them because he liked their play when he saw it on Broadway. :sadder:

I hate it when they do that. They did that in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring with the sun glaring off a windshield or something when Frodo and Sam are leaving the Shire. Everyone got the DVD to show their friends, and then nothing was there :weep:

That's always encouraging to hear. Really makes you want to try at all

Piccoli Fiori JMJ

Ah... I imagine our production of Arsenic and Old Lace was not successful. I was one of the old ladies (I can't recall which one, rather I can't recall any of the names). I felt it was a pity part because I had been auditioning for every play and never made it and I was a senior.

Anyways, we only performed two nights. Each night we skipped chunks of the play. The last night was the worst and we skipped nearly half the play. I had nothing to do with it, but my experience with the cast lead me not want to continue in theater. I saw it leading down a rather impure path, and I didn't want to be any where near that kind of crud. I picked up some cussing after that play. I think I'll stick to backstage stagehand stuff. I enjoyed doing that.

Our production was really cute, if a little confusing because we had to cut it to under forty minutes. But we did really well and did our lines almost perfectly and our costumes weren't bad and our makeup was decent. Our set worked really well too. It was a fun experience. I'm glad I did it.
