Oh man... the first few were good. But the series gets totally de-railed after that. I have a few friends who refuse to finish reading the series just because he seems to be writing for the sake of writing, instead of finishing his story.

Do they realize that Jordan recently died and Brandon Sanderson (whom I listed as a favorite!) has finished the series? Jordan knew he was dying -- he wanted to finish the series himself, but at least he was able to leave a lot of notes along with the actual ending scenes.

I have heard that it gets squirrely in the middle. Will have to see how I handle that...

Funny thing. My wife was reading the series and accidentally skipped over a book in the middle. She didn't even realize it until later -- she didn't seem to miss anything.

And that is how slow moving and distracted the story gets
But I'm sure you'll get through it fine. Maybe you can just gloss through some of the later books and get the gist of it.
