dauntingknight
So in the old three movies( The raiders of lost ark, Temple of doom and, The Holy grail), 2 of them mention Christianity and the other deals with the gods of Asia. Then the most recent one is "The kingdom of the crystal skull" and they have aliens in it. I mean they just can't seem to make up their minds. nleyetn
I voted for the Last Crusade. It was the first one I saw and still my favorite. I haven't bothered to see the new one. Maybe I'll get around to it when it's on cable and there's nothing else to watch, but from what I heard it really wasn't that great.
Nihil Obstat
Isn't it called "The Last Crusade". Stared at that question for a solid three minutes before I figured it out.

Excelsior1027
For a while there I was thinking to myself, "What does Monty Python have to do with Indiana Jones?"
Nihil Obstat
I wish there was an option for "they're all great, but the first three were best", because that's me.
Archaeology cat
The first scene in Temple of Doom is pretty cool, but the whole taking out the still-beating heart is just weird. Of course, Nazi guy melting when the Ark is opened is also weird, and other Nazi guy dying after drinking from the wrong chalice is weird, but those are cooler. Though I also really like that scene in Last Crusade where Donovan is saying "It's time to ask yourself what you believe."
sarcasmguy126
i agree with the "option for all of them were great, but the old ones were the best" "raiders" is my favorite, temple of doom was ok (the human sacrifice was disturbing), and the last crusade and new one were wonderful! Nihil Obstat
The new one is terrible. Please don't ever speak of that travesty again
I don't agree. I think it followed the Indiana Jones type fairly well. Tongue in cheek (they're never meant to be totally serious), very over the top, a good old fashioned adventure. Obviously the alien bit was a tad out there, but on the other hand, so is someone's heart getting pulled out and used in dark rituals. I'll be honest, I'd have preferred something other than aliens, but besides that... I think it was quite faithful.
Excelsior1027
I never really liked Temple of Doom. It just had a different vibe than Raiders and The Last Crusade. I think it works better when the object being sought has something to do with Christianity. How about a new one where he tried to find Noah's Ark or something like that? Edited April 7, 2009 by Excelsior1027
