Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
so the general rule for music, literature, and movies is not to deliberately place myself in an occasion of sin, right? what about rap music which glorifies violence and sex. this doesn't put me in an occasion of sin, but its still kind of immoral i guess. How should i handle something like this, which goes against church teachings, but doesn't cause me to sin? is it inherently sinful?
CatherineM
Rather than looking at whether something is inherently sinful, ask yourself if it does anything positive. Listening to music that glorifies violence against women is bound to have a negative affect on you in the long run.
