takebacktonight
that this happened because I am sick? Like...really sick? I have this overwhelming sense that I have cancer...the symptoms fit and I can't get to see a doctor for weeks. I'm going out of my mind. Anyone out there have ways to not go crazy? Praying really isn't working about now.
Christie_M
fist off, take a deep breath and relax I doubt what you saw was a symptom of cancer. But if you're really concerned about it, try scedueling an appointment, even if it is a few weeks away. As for not going crazy, I would suggest praying the Rosary. The repeating of prayers will help calm you and keep your mind focused for a while to just meditate. Do you know how to pray the Rosary? Hope this helps somewhat
princessgianna
Seriously sometimes when you don't think that something is working it's because the devil is trying to trip you (especially when it is prayer!) ! Prayers never fail! Not saying you will get what you think you want but God won't forsaken you! You will be in my prayers ! CatherineM
Even if you have cancer, it isn't necessarily a death sentence. My mom has survived 3 different cancers, lung, breast, and skin. She's going to be 87 in a few months, and besides being short a few body parts, she is pretty healthy. Early detection is the key, and going to a doctor when you have a concern is wise. However, worrying unnecessarily doesn't help. Negativity can actually make it worse when it comes to cancer, so be positive, and trust in God's will for you. takebacktonight
Thanks... Just a moment of weakness.... I'm just scared, and frustrated that I can't see a doctor while my mom goes and leaves me with my stress-inducing father and brother for a week. When they get on your nerves, vacuum. You won't be able to hear them, and if you do that every time they get on your nerves, eventually they will let you alone to avoid the noise. Works to train dogs, so I figured it would work for guys too.

Saint Therese
It sounds like you might be freaking out more from stress than anything. Sometimes our physical symptoms can be a manifestation of our feelings. It might help to talk to your school counselor or your pastor, or youth minister. God bless you. My symptoms are *very* real. If it be His will to test me, so be it. Que sera, sera.
the lords sheep
There is no reason that you shouldn't be able to get into a GP (general practioner) today or tomorrow, depending on what your symptoms are. Just call your regular doctor and make an appointment. If that doesn't work, go to one of the Urgent Care clinics, tell them your symptoms, that you want to get it checked out, and then you don't have to wait so long. It's not worth being terrified/ worried over. In Christ, Lauren
icelandic_iceskater
breathe. Like TLS said, you should be able to call your GP and get an appointment in, if not with your regular GP then with another one. Doctors offices get cancellations all the time. Are you under 18? If so, you need to mention your concern to your parents. In the mean time try talking a walk. The exercise and sunshine should help calm you down. Do you play an instrument? Practice that for awhile. Or call a friend. Whatever you do, force yourself to think rationally. Nothing can happen without the permissive will of God, right? So whatever is going in (if it's anything at all) God's got you covered.
takebacktonight
Thanks for the replies everyone, I really appreciate it. I'm Canadian, so the system is a little different. My GP, wonderful though he is, is in his 70's and overworked. He's on vacation and can't find anyone to cover his practice. My mom can pull strings to get me in to an ob/gyn, but she's away. (I'm waay over 18 but she's a nurse that people owe favours to ) Urgent care here is for really urgent care, otherwise you'll wait for 5 hours. Still wouldn't give up my free healthcare for the world though! Again, thanks a lot. I am feeling much calmer about things today.
the lords sheep
To me, waiting 5 or more hours is worth peace of mind.... In the meantime, record whatever symptoms you have (in addition to your medical history) so that you are prepared for when she can get you an appointment. It sounds terrible, but if you continue calling your GP asking for an appointment, you might get one (the squeaky wheel theory...) Your GP's office HAS to be referring people to someone else, because you can't tell your patients who may have sinus infections/the flu/pneumonia/whatever that they will just have to sit tight for 3 weeks while he's vacationing. Call and find out who that sub is, and demand to be seen. At worst, make the next available appointment- or ask them to refer you onto a specialist and help you get an appointment. I think you'll feel better once you get seen, or at least if you only have an appointment, you'll know that you will be seen on X date. Until then, pray, hope, and try not to worry.
