pio
I agree with Lauren - five hours is definitely worth piece of mind. I don't know what symptoms you have, and I'm not asking you to share them, because that's pretty personal!, but if it makes you feel better, there are a lot of medical conditions that present similar symptoms. I've had tests for cancer three times now, but only ever to rule cancer out. I don't mean this to belittle your concerns in any way, because it'll be really scary, but just to ease them a little. If it's stressy in the house, God has unlimited texts.
My answer to you is vacuum cleaners. When they get on your nerves, vacuum. You won't be able to hear them, and if you do that every time they get on your nerves, eventually they will let you alone to avoid the noise. Works to train dogs, so I figured it would work for guys too.
That is one of the best pieces of advice I have EVER heard. And so true. takebacktonight
To me, waiting 5 or more hours is worth peace of mind.... In the meantime, record whatever symptoms you have (in addition to your medical history) so that you are prepared for when she can get you an appointment. It sounds terrible, but if you continue calling your GP asking for an appointment, you might get one (the squeaky wheel theory...) Your GP's office HAS to be referring people to someone else, because you can't tell your patients who may have sinus infections/the flu/pneumonia/whatever that they will just have to sit tight for 3 weeks while he's vacationing. Call and find out who that sub is, and demand to be seen. At worst, make the next available appointment- or ask them to refer you onto a specialist and help you get an appointment. I think you'll feel better once you get seen, or at least if you only have an appointment, you'll know that you will be seen on X date. Until then, pray, hope, and try not to worry. In Christ, Lauren
The office is literally closed....it's referred to an answering service far away. There is no sub...there's a massive doctor shortage. This being said, once my mom gets to talk to one of her buddies, I will be taken very seriously. If my condition changes I promise I'll go to the E.R.! (Normally) here, you have to actually see a GP and convince him to give you a referral. Thanks for the advice though! I so appreciate the concern. I must say, the one time I got sick in the U.S. I got the quickest service ever! Unfortunately, that 14 minutes and a nebulizer cost me 400 bucks. I'm definitely not a hypochondriac...but I have got this really strong 'gestalt' feeling and my symptoms are getting worse over time. Ever read the Madeline books? I feel exactly like Miss Clavelle suddenly sitting up in her bed in the middle of the night saying "Somezing eez not right!" Glad to hear you're cancer free! Here's hoping for my outcome to be the same!
