dUSt
“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. "Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas."

Mr.Cat
Texas Governor Rick Perry, has the right idea and motivation, I hope. Texas Governor Rick Perry (8:17): "Buy-n-Large, we think it's time to draw the line in the sand and tell Washington that we no longer are we going to accept their oppressive hand in the state of Texas." | (Who else heard this?) Global BnL CEO Shelby Forthright will not be happy... Dan
Frisco is a mere 200 miles from Paint Creek. Paint Creek is, of course, the hometown of the Aggie Rick Perry.

eagle_eye222001
I agree with the Texas governor. While basically it was a "publicity stunt," we'll see in the coming year, the meat of this. ---------------- Now playing: Seether - Rise Above This via FoxyTunes
Socrates
Awesome! That settles it - I'm moving to Texas! "Publicity stunt" or no, these are words that need to be heard, and I hope others pay attention. I've never heard anyone in political office talk like this during my lifetime. The 10th Amendment has long been trampled on by the Federal government, and the government is oppressive. It's past time we fight back! God bless Texas! (Btw, does anyone have a link to the proposed bill itself?) Edited April 15, 2009 by Socrates
