Christie_M Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 I have taken it upon me to potty train my baby sister this week since I'm on break. I think I'm in over my head. Every time she stands still, we have an accident(thankfully we have hard wood floors). So I am running around the house after her to keep her busy. We're not doing "fast track" training (most people who do that take their kid to the potty every 15 minutes, but that just won't work for us), but Charlotte has been using the potty for a few months now... she still has the occasional accident, wears diapers when we go out and when she goes to bed, but during the day she's really good about using her potty to do her business. We haven't dealt with a poopy diaper in weeks (at least). Potty training for us has been made easier by the fact that Charlotte is a nudist. She'll wear panties or a diaper, but other clothing doesn't stay on her body for long no matter how many times I put it back on her. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
missionseeker Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Keep her close to you either in a bathroom or near it. Give her lots of salty food and LOTS of liquids. When she has an accident, explain that that's what the toilet is for. When she makes it to the toilet make a big hairy deal out of it. lol. I'm at college so I'm not at home much but in the past month and a half, I have been wet on twice by my sister. Christie_M Posted April 14, 2009 Author Share Posted April 14, 2009 She woke up from a nap 30 min ago, ate and I put undies back on her. Then she started jumping up and down and looking at me sort of yelling....didn't click that she was doing her first potty dance! rushed her to the bathroom but she was already done. I cleaned and changed her and 10 minutes later she comes running to me and pointing to the bathroom. Again it didn't click that she needed to pee, so I picked her up.
