Lounge Daddy
Over 28 other state sovereignty bills have been submitted to Congress. This could get serious. Btw, video of Gov. Perry's address is available at the Governor's web site.

BG45
It does have a pretty shape now. Although if it does secede, the United States would like its military equipment back, amongst other things. This is assuming of course, the people of Texas (See: Actually the state government) decide to inaugurate a civil war. Yes it's in their state Constitution to leave, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be an amiable separation. Edited April 16, 2009 by BG45

It's only coercion and threat and deadly force.

Lounge Daddy
I see that Gov. Perry has stated today that Texas is free to leave the Union if it so chooses.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired up an anti-tax "tea party" Wednesday with his stance against the federal government and for states' rights as some in his U.S. flag-waving audience shouted, "Secede!" ... "There's a lot of different scenarios," Perry said. "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot."
There's audio HERE.
