Exactly! And plus, most of the outrageous spending and high taxes the Administration and Congress are engaging in right now is unconstitutional. So they've overstepped their bounds and deserve to be protested at.

I'm a Libertarian. The word 'tax' is like a swear word to me.

What does socialism have to do with taxes?

The current tax rate in America (for the middle class) is relatively low. By no means does that mean that it should be higher... I am just saying we pay in a proportionate amoutn for what our government provides. They pay more in Europe because the state offers many more services. That would defintely be the wrong path for America.

The government wants to pay for everything it can so it has an excuse to take as much money as they can to do whatever they want!

I understand that our goverment is wasteful. Bureaucracy is always ineffiecient. But requiring its citizins to pay taxes doesn't make a government socialist.

Not for a capitalist country... America almost pays what socialist countries pay in taxes. America is one of if not the highest taxes capitalist country in the world.

A capitalist economy has very low tax rates because in capitalism the government is supposed to provide barely anything. A nationalized health care plan, national funding for particular groups (planned parenthood, etc) is supposed to be non existent in a capitalist country. About the most it is supposed to be involved in is maybe road maintenance, water/sewer, mail, etc which is why the tax rate is supposed to be low.
