IcePrincessKRS
There was a toad outside my front door just now. I thought it was a leaf until it jumped and scared me nearly to death. Then there are deer all over the place, and rabbits, and wild turkeys (not the whiskey). And bugs. All these things walk around our backyard like they own the place. Pfft. I bet they will eat my garden too.
On the upside at least it wasn't a pygmy rattlesnake. Yesterday Marielapin nearly stepped on one when she went into her backyard.

When we were younger, we went to visit my aunt and uncle in Missouri. My brother was sitting outside, on a retaining wall built out of rail ties stacked on each other, and talking to my uncle. Suddenly my uncle said, very quietly, "Hey, come over here." My brother got up and came over, and then my uncle took a hoe and killed the copperhead snake lying between two of the rail ties. I am pretty sure I've read that we have no poisonous snakes up here. It's too cold.

He keeps telling me he wants to go to Montana and hang out for a week or two.
