Resurrexi
Wow. That's interesting. So my science teachers have been lying to me my whole life about how all other countries use exclusively the metric system.
AdAltareDei
Actually we do use the metric system. A lot of people just know feet and inches as well. Because you know, American globalization etc. etc. It helps when buying American products or reading American material.

Vincent Vega
The UK (and I assume some of the rest of the Commonwealth) still use some a lot of weird non-SI measurement. Units like: -The Stone, for weight -The BTU, for thermal uses -The Foot-pound-second for work is still found sometimes (that's an annoying one) -Miles/MPH for distance/speed and so forth can still be found (actually, it's a law in the UK that all speeds/distances MUST be displayed in Mi/MPH). Why are there no patriotic emoticons for anyone besides Texas? Uncle Sam is frowning for heaven's sake! Yeah, I'm pretty sure that anti-Catholicism is the only acceptable prejudice left...in the United States at least. Our very roots are anti-papist, and Catholics are still a minority.
