Theologian in Training
Let me clear up a few things. As far as I understand it, the best place to see it is in the W NW sky at 9PM, since that is when Mercury will be most visible as it sets http://www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=a&id=8172 There is no moon, well, correction, the moon is a VERY small sliver which you will not be able to see clearly in light polluted areas, I could vaguely make it out with binoculars, but not the best. The way I found it was to look at the right of Orion towards the horizon. And, J A I M E, I have not been requested not hot stuff! Theologian in Training
The moon was phenomenal tonight. I really could not see Mercury, but the moon. You could see the dark shadow of the moon lit very slightly on the bottom, almost a sliver. It was amazing!
