kafka
it was funny at work today. I read Psalm 17 (18) at first break. Its the Psalm David composed upon being delivered from Saul, and in the second part of it, he falls into this lofty and terrible prophetic discourse about how Christ is going to return and do all these stupendous things and destory all his enemies, evildoers and those who rejected him. It was a bit dreadful. My friend saw me and said you need to lighten up a bit. Then at my second break I read Psalm 18 (19) about how God has written and knit his glory into creation and how the joy of Christ is like a bridegroom coming forth from the bridal chamber or like the rising sun. And there is one verse which summarizes the whole mystery of Jesus Christ as desceding to earth (the Incarnation) and ascending to Heaven (the ascension). Then I was all happiness. The Psalms can be a bit of a rollercoaster ride Edited April 30, 2009 by kafka

kafka
{18:7} his departure is from the summit of heaven [the Incarnation]. And his course reaches all the way to its summit [the Ascension]. Neither is there anyone who can hide himself from his heat. [the heat of his Sacred Heart warm and all comfort to those who accept Him, blistering to those who reject Him] Edited April 30, 2009 by kafka

CatherineM
I finally started my new book today. I got the, "It's almost May 1st" guilt trip this morning. I wanted to spend my summer vacation playing disc golf, but was reminded that I'm a grown up. So that's a positive that I'm finally started.
