Seriously. I came home from a school thing today any there's this huge gash next to my kitten's eye. <_<

Brother says "Scorn (other cat) did it. Not sure why."

And this kitten's really small and was given to us before she was really old enough to be taken from her mother, and I've been taking care of her (is it wierd for a kitten to like baths and hair dryers? ) and she's mine and if that cat doesn't stop leaving my kitten alone she's in for a rude awakening. :annoyed:

So I'm not sure why the cat doesn't like my kitten, and is it okay to put neosporin on a cat? I mean, if it's not it's a little late, but still.... :idontknow:

Well.... I guess you could call it that... last couple of times she's hissed at Misfit (my kitten) I've kicked her.

Hmm..... I wonder if the name has anything to do with this kitten's problems...

whoops. :hehe:

It's absolutely fine to put neosporin on animals.

We usually only use if the cut is really bad or we really like the animal. Like Millie. The cow

Good, because somehow it seemed much better than pouring peroxide right next to her eye.

 Millie the cow?

I  my kitten - after giving her a bath I blow-dried her (she's an outside cat but since she doesn't have a mother cat to take care of her I've kinda been the substitute) and she loved it. :idontknow: And for the longest time I couldn't tell if she was purring or shivering. :hehe:

Millie was the best pet ever. I  ed Millie. I even named her. She had a calf named Molly that could ump out of trailers. They are six feet high. She let us ride her, but she was a milk cow and bony so ... She made the best butter EVER! Well, milk for the butter... She also had another calf, named Bush hog. At the time, he was going to be traded for a bush hog so that Dad could work on clearing the back 38 acres. The guy who wanted him, wanted a tame bull for breeding. I found him a few minutes after he born and when Millie was finished taking care of him, went over to her and petted her and then petted the little guy. Within a few minutes he was asleep on my lap (not ALL him of course, but a lot of him. his neck and head and sometimes shoulders) My sister and I worked with him (and another little calf that we had just born then too, his name boots. Boots was my charge and Bush Hog was my sister's) and we trained the to walk on halters and we suplement bottle fed them (we fed the a bottle twice a day so they'd learn to be around humans)

Bush Hog was definitely the faster learner/more disposed to be friendly to humans. Boots was a cutie though and I loved him. Then one day a few weeks after he was born his mom died. We didn't know why, but were grateful that we'd already started bottle feeding him. Of course, Millie let him suck from her, too.

Then a couple days later I went out to the pasture and heard this weird noise. I couldn't figure out what it was at first and then I realized it was Millie BREATHING! Mom and Dad were out in the front yard with someone ... i forget why, but I couldn't get them, so I stood there and stroked the poor dear's neck. It seemed help her breathe a little better. So for about an hour I stood there. I got my sister and she and I took turns waiting with Millie. Her eyes were so sad. :sadder: I'd never seen Millie's eyes sad and I was really worried. When Mom and Dad were finished, we got them and showed them. They were pretty alarmed, too. so they called the vet to find out what it could be.

We narrowed the cause down to my grandmother's husband. He fed them moldy sweet potatoes and that infects their lungs. He had done this to another cow of ours too. (I can't get into why I can't stand the man, but, there are plenty of good reasons) So the vet gave us med for Millie. And we tied a Saint Benedict medal around her neck. For poison. And she never got better. :sadder: She got to where you could hear her breathing from the house. And then she died. And so did our four other cows. We all cried when Millie died.

So we were going to keep bush hog after all because we loved Millie so much and trade Boots for the bush hog. Then a couple of weeks later we noticed a bump on Bush Hog's underside. He'd developed an intestinal hernia. The vet said that with that type and in that spot there wasn't really much she could do (it would most likely burst again) So... we had to slaughter him. That was sad too. And then Boots got traded and we haven't had a cow since.

I miss cows.

(Shakespeare couldn't have written a better tragedy than that. They all croaked.)

Aww... that's sad.

I hate it when pets die. Especially when they were ones you were especially fond of.

Most of my experiences with cows have been pretty....I dunno, uneventful - not enough to make me love them or hate them. Granted, they've all been my grandparents' cows, and they're pretty wild/shy, but oh well.

 they are. If my kids ask for a dog, they can have a calf.

I have next to no experience with cats.

My biggest memory of them is one time we went to my mom's friend's house and they had a cat and apparently I got on the wrong side of it because anytime I went near it, it would extend it's claws towards me like it was warning me to come no further.

Kinda weird.

Yeah, I'm not that much of a dog person. I mean, I like dogs but I really like them if someone else has already trained them/is taking care of them. Much more of a cat person. :kitten:
