Nihil Obstat
Weirdest dream I ever had: This isn't the scariest one. I actually don't talk about the scariest one. It was too traumatizing. This dream was actually really really cool. You know how most scary dreams are really frightening because it feels like you're living it? Well this dream should have been utterly terrifying; it had all the right elements. What happened though, is that it played out exactly like I was watching a horror movie... that I just so happened to be in. The emphasis was more like watching a movie though. In fact when I woke up, I had the exact same reactions that you might after watching a spooky movie, not after having a nightmare. This dream was about a haunted house. Kind of in the vein of 1408 mixed with... something I can't remember right now. Anyway, I only remember small portions of this dream. It felt like a two hour movie, but I can only remember snippets. Also the plot changed halfway through, and more than once. The beginning of the story that I started dreaming wasn't the beginning anymore by the end, if you understand what I mean. The best I can figure out is that this haunted house was a large mansion owned by a regular looking family. They liked to hold big parties in their house. Neighbourhood affairs. There were a couple weird rumous about the house though. My family was new in the neighbourhood, and we got an invitation, so we came by. This is the beginning that is consistent with the end of the story, which I do remember. This beginning never actually happened, but the background makes sense. A moderate sized group of kids, myself included, one dog, which is strangely important in what I remember, and a couple adults were in the basement of the house, sharing our ghost stories. For some reason we all had true ghost stories. Talking about these stories however, provoked whatever was in the house already. The basement is weirdly dark, and there are lots of big rooms. Almost a flat light. We're sitting down sharing these stories. I remember a really strange one about my grandpa (my grandpa in real life, who I never met) being 'taken' by some kind of ghost. For some reason this is extremely disturbing. I don't remember why now. This presence starts 'playing' with us (like I said, talking about this provoked it), harmless, almost like a game, but I start to feel really uneasy. It's an ominous feeling. We're provoking it by acknowledging it. We're throwing a beach ball around in this weird open basement, and the presence is making the ball do weird things midair. Like I said, playful. Then all of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I see this transparent shape rush into the room from an adjacent room, and viciously kick the dog that was there with us. It happened really fast, but it was brutal, then this presence disappears again. This is when the rising action started building towards the climax. At this point things start getting really frightening, and now my family and I (not my real family) and the dog are trying to escape. Now we're in a long, fairly narrow room. Again I get a really foreboding, ominous feeling. This part is probably the most downright creepy. It was all about the atmosphere. As we're trying to get out of this room, the most terrifying thing happens: dead dogs start falling from the ceiling, coming out of nowhere. I see this in a detached, slow motion type way. There's a lot of strange detail. I see the face of this dog as it hits the floor. Quite disturbing, and very surreal. Next I remember, we're outside. This is a big, big house on a big lot, and we're by a pool now. There's a lifeguard there. Now this presence posesses the lifeguard, and she ends up electrocuting herself in the pool water as we try to escape. Last part I remember is the ending, which is bizzarre and really cool. We finally make it back to the main area of the party. Sort of an outdoor deck area, lots of people around, happy typical garden party. Younger kids are playing on the ground with little toys. We rush in terrified of what was going on, but as soon as we step in, there's this strange feeling, almost like when you're about to pass out. Feeling really fuzzy and lightheaded, ears are ringing, all that kind of stuff. Next part I remember, since we all sort of blacked out, is that we're talking to the female host of the party. She's asking us if we enjoyed ourselves, and we're not really sure. She asks my youngest brother, who's really feeling strange, but sat down and started playing halfheartedly with the other kids. He's still confused at this point, and she asks him "did you have a good time", and he says "uh....... yes.", mostly because he doesn't know what to say, but it's obvious that something is really wrong. Now the rest of us are forgetting what happened. It's fading into a strange surreal half dream that none of us remember. Then it ends. Weirdest dream ever. It was only a few weeks ago. I firmly believe that if I were a movie producer or scriptwriter, I could make an absolutely terrifying horror movie based on this dream. It was like a surrealist horror film in my head. I'd be famous by now. Honestly.

I know people in film school [/quote] I'm just being honest. That would have become my second favourite horror movie. After The Exorcist. I don't think there's anything to be humble about, because I don't see the dream as my own creativity. I felt like I was just watching a movie, like I said, so I say it was awesome the same way I say that about the Exorcist.

mcts
this is probably way late, but I don't particularly want to go through it all to check and see whether it is or not because i'm running late as it is. I personally like Taylor's music. I am actually listening to it now. However, even if I hated it, I would have a lot of respect for her, just like I have a lot of respect for the Jonas Brothers even though i personally cannot stand most of their music. I have respect for them because they are good role models. I'm sure that it would be easy for Taylor and the Jonas brothers to go out partying every night and sleeping around with everyone who throws themselves their way. But they don't. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I have never seen anything about Taylor or the JBs going partying. I don't know what Taylor's decision on the matter has been, but I know that the JBs wear chastity rings and are saving themselves for marriage. In today's society, we need more people like them. People are looking up to people like Paris Hilton who is basically famous just for being rich and a partier, Lindsey Lohan who has been to rehab numerous times, and Miley Cyrus who has posed nude for a photo shoot. We need more people like Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers.
