tinytherese
I have a suitemate that's an international student from Mexico who might not be able to go home for the summer because of this. So far I've heard the flu being reported in California, Kansas, and New York.
mmc4
Ugh. This is so freaky. In our Biology class we just watched a documentary about Avian Flu Outbreak and we're reading the HotZone by Richard Preston. This outbreak is so similar... Ahh. thessalonian
Did you guys know that an archeologist who greeted President Oboma when he was in Mexico City on the 16th died the next day with flu like symptoms? not joking. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...amp;refer=world “The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported. The newspaper didn’t confirm if Solis had swine flu or not.” Edited April 28, 2009 by thessalonian

BG45
Well if you want scary headlines, we're technically under a national health emergency and the European Union has issued a travel warning against the United States and Mexico... I'm not overly worried though, last swine flu was in 1976 and it was a bust.

CatherineM
Almost all of my dad's family died in October, 1918. More Americans died that month than any other month in the history of the country. My dad got it, survived it, but spent the rest of his life afraid of getting sick. I suppose I should be, but I live with someone who gets paranoid pretty quick. If I show fear, he might get really sick, and I don't mean with the flu. I take the advised precautions, hand washing, covering my mouth when I sneeze, etc. The rest, I leave to the Lord. When you have a life in Christ, there is nothing to fear.

I was watching CNN and they just talked about general hygiene being the best way to avoid the thing. Though maybe I'm more at risk since I work at a pharmacy
