I'm not familiar with accessories you might be able to find that could allow you to use a mic with it, but my guess is you could find something. The newer Touches do have external speakers. They are crappy speakers but they work.

missionseeker
Thank you guys! I hate having to stay in one place to talk. And sometimes it's nice to ditch the roomies and be alone. So that's why I was wondering. This is looking like a decent option. I did the math for skype calls from this weekend and for calling cards, it would have been $30 for one, but for cell phones it would have added up to $162 for me alone. (SO insane!) So two phone bills would be about the same as one ipod touch. And a lot more portable than a laptop. Have any of you ever used it for skype? Vincent Vega
1st G does NOT have a mic. 2nd G does. If you're going to use it a lot, it's probably worth paying the extra $50 to $75 dollars. For me, I took the money and ran.

That happened to me; I just lost allll of my music from my Library on iTunes. And because I was using a new computer, it didn't have my music file on it. It sucked. Haha. But with the 2.2 firmwear download, it makes them virtually identical (save for the microphone).
