Picking Classes

Who wants to help me pick classes for next year? :D

First semester is already set. Economcs 201, Statistics 213, calculus (the lame beginner kind for us dumb folk ;) ) Computer Science 203, and Junior English.
Second semester, the required ones are Economics 203, Statistics 217, and Business and Environment 291. I have a social sciences option and a humanities option.

I'm sort of stuck on the humanities option. Wondering if I should try out taking beginner Japanese, or if I should go with Philosophy or Religious Studies. Anyone done any of them and would recommend them?

I'm excited. :)

You should take Calculus II.

Talk to princessgianna about Japanese. She's in her second year taking it.....or maybe her second semester ........anyway ask her about it.

Gross, calculus. If I'm lucky this math 241 or whatever it is is the last pure math type class I'll ever take. Stats I can handle. It's interesting and applicable. Calculus I just cannot stand.
Taking Japanese would be cool, because if I decide to do the international business concentration, I need two classes in it anyway. If I don't, then I still know some Japanese.
On the other hand, the whole formal logic of philosophy is fascinating, and I can take classes entirely on that........ :P

Japanese is going to kill you in your first year. I'd say wait until next year for the language.
Philosophy is always fun!! :woot:

That's what I was leaning towards tonight.
Still a tough choice though; it all sounds so fun! :)

here's a starter for your philosophy class.

If a tree falls in a forest, and nobody's around to hear it, does it still make a sound?
and if it does make a sound, then why are you in the middle of the forest?

Bah. That's not philosophy. That's nonsense questions.

If Christie posts on Phatmass, and nobody reads it, is she still lame? ;)
