MissScripture
I'd also save a copy of the message she left you.
I'm going to try, but I'm not sure if my phone keeps messages past 14 days or 28 days or something like that...
I am just paranoid, so probably you will be fine without paper documentation. Great landlords are a real blessing. When are you getting married, btw?
I'm paranoid, too, but I'm banking on the fact that from what I've heard, usually if things go south, it works in the tenent's favor...At least it always did with my grandparents', and they did things by the book (such as before and after photo documentation). Since this lady isn't doing things anywhere near the book, I am hoping I'd be okay... Honestly, part of the reason I rented the place I'm at now is because I knew the landlord and I knew he was good and would take good care of the place. We were planning on getting married in June, but it turns out that both of us being in grad school is really stressful, so we're not entirely sure right now... Hopefully soon it will just be a long-ago memory of a sucky landlord. About getting married while in grad school: I am a veteran (I got married in January between semesters of my last year in law school). I can tell you that it is stressful, all around. Planning was stressful, and being married is stressful. Right now I am in the middle of finals and I was not very nice to my dh last night. (I apologized and we made up.) We are both really tired. And, there is always the chance of pregnancy, which can complicate things significantly even if things go perfectly. For us, getting married when we did was the right thing to do, but I can understand waiting a while too -- although that has stresses of its own. I'll be praying for you guys.
We'll probably get married before we're both done with school, June just definitely wasn't the right time. (I had finals this week too, and I know I wasn't very nice, either... ) For one thing, I would've been going to clinicals a week after getting married, which, when we originally started planning, no one thought much of. After we decided to postpone, everyone (my parents, his parents, us, various friends and family) all thought, "Wow, that was probably not going to be a great idea..." He had also just moved up here in January, started school, and a new job. I had started grad school in Sept. We're shooting for early next spring. We think we'll be used to the stress, or as much as we can be, by then. Plus, the planning will go pretty quickly, since we had a lot of it done before! Also, my sister, who is my maid of honor, will be able to help more. Thanks for the prayers. I think I'll try to record the message to my computer... Btw, thanks everyone for the help/thoughts/ideas! MissScripture
I just recorded the message to my computer. So, now even if my phone deletes it, I have it.
