When Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the British scientist, wrote the code that transformed a private computer network into the World Wide Web in 1991, the Internet appeared to be a limitless resource.

However, a report being compiled by Nemertes Research, a respected American think-tank, will warn that the Web has reached a critical point and that even the recession has failed to stave off impending problems.[/quote]

Also, everyone should be advised to make their own backup copy of the Internet, so they can still find the information they need should bandwidth become temporarily unavailable.

Seriously, how can the internet run out of bandwidth? Isn't that like saying that space is going to run out of space, or that energy is going to run out of heat?

Or do I completely misunderstand how the internet functions?
