Swine Flu Tips

Groo the Wanderer

Man oh man. Got the word from Bishop Vann today about change to the liturgy due to the swine flu. I had to post them to our parish website:

Bishop's Part:

“Because of the health issues concerning the Swine Flu, the Bishop has asked for certain liturgical changes at this time.

1. the least amount of hand touching possible

2. no holding hands during the Lord’s Prayer

3. a bow of the head for the sign of Peace

4. communion will be given only under the species of bread.

5. if you are sick, it is better to stay at home”

I SOOO wanted to add to #2 " we shouldn't be doing this anyway"!!!!

All these are already the ordinary way of doing things here. Do you normally receive both species of communion on all Sundays?

Actually that's a pretty good method for building an immunity...right?

One of the infected VA residents goes to my parish. Maybe I am clueless but I couldn't be less worried about being infected.

Maybe.

I think it might be safer to take the pigs snot and inject it in a shot form though.

J/K of course. Watch, now half of the people googling swine flu are going to come across this thread and start collecting pig snot and shooting it up.

I am only worried about getting swine flu because I contracted viral encephalitis a couple years ago and have been physically weaker since that time (I suffered minor nerve damage on my left side).

Also my mother has emphysema and so I don't want her to catch anything from me (or anyone else for that matter). We now wear surgical masks when we go out to the supermarket, and we wash our hands and forearms religiously when we get home (or after looking through the mail). I also disinfect things that we bring into the house with clorox wipes. I feel it is better to be safe than sorry.

DemonSlayer

I think that the kid in the picture just wants to taste the pig before deciding to eat it or not.
