Have you always done it? lol On my mom's side of the family it's something of a family trait to make a noise while you eat. My grandfather always did it when he was a kid, only it was more of a "nile, nile" kind of sound. I don't think any of my aunts and uncles did it but at least one of my younger brothers did. Poppi (my grandpa) trained one of my (adopted) cousins to do it. And my Adrienne does, has ever since she was really little. The kids who did it on their own seemed to do it more because they were really, really enjoying their food. The cousin who was trained to do it, I think, did it because he thought that was what you were supposed to do. (I always kind of gloated to myself because my kid didn't have to be trained to do it, she just does. I'm weird like that.)
We have a certain big toe shape in our family. One of my cousins, my aunt, my grandpa, any my big toe all look exactly alike.
On the other side of the family, my late great-grandfather, all of my grandmother's brothers, my dad and uncle, and I all have the same horrible posture - we call it the "Battelle Bend".

You?

We also have a weird toe thing. Our second toes are substantially longer than our big toes, and curl over. It is so prominent that when there was some question about my brother being the father of my nephew John, my dad withheld his opinion until he could look at the baby's toes in the hospital. It was not even close. He was one of us. He was also born with red hair. We all are. It changes over to blond at about age three, and then slowly darkens. By adulthood, the guys are kind of a dirty blond and stay that way. The females continue until a dark brown. People still think my baby pictures look weird because of my red hair. My dad said it was our Viking ancestors coming out.

Premature baldness on my maternal side? ;)

I'm hoping I get a chance to go grey, than white before I go bald.

I'll be lucky if my hairline isn't receding by the time I'm out. Seriously.
I think my grandpa and his twin brother started balding by 25.......
I'm thinking grey by 50, snow white by 65. :) I would enjoy that. Provided I still have hair.

I've always said that if I start going noticeably bald, I'm shaving it all off and shining the top of my head. I mean that.

I have had white hair since I was 14. It's become a lot more noticeable since college.

My grandmother made up an "uncle" (close friend of the family that is just called "uncle") and even sent us letters from him. It was years before I knew that Uncle Pete never existed.

One of my uncles has regrown his tonsils twice. He also had mono twice, and I think you're only supposed to get that once. :idontknow:

One of my cousins (other side of the family from the uncle mentioned above) started going bald in college. Now (at age 32) he shaves off the rest.

The men on my dad's side loose their hair. Once when my nephew was a teenager, and he had humiliated his little sister about some monthly issues, my brother shaved his head. He told him to get used to that look because the guys in our family only lease their hair until their 30's and then have to return it.
