Dan
Maine’s "Same Sex Marriage" Law "Discriminates" Against Polygamy Date: May 07, 2009 Cross-Reference: "same sex marriage," Maine, "discrimination" Contrary to claims by homosexuals, Maine's new "Act to End Discrimination in Civil Marriage" does no such thing. By the same terms of its supporters, the new law openly "discriminates" against consenting adult polygamists. On May 6, 2009, the State of Maine became the fifth U.S. State to codify the legal construct of "same sex marriage." Supporters labeled the passage of the new law as a "civil rights victory," a matter of "fairness and equality" for "all" as well as "equal protection under the law." The new law was titled, "L.D. 1020, An Act To End Discrimination in Civil Marriage and Affirm Religious Freedom." But the Act, itself, very specifically does "discriminate" - against consenting adult polygamists. ------- O.K., so Maine can be brought to court since they openly and with great malice appear to discriminate against polygamy. Spiffy. How far away from sanity and morality can society get??

I think it could actually be positive for Catholics to see lawsuits suggesting marriage for those in the man/boy association, for those who want to marry their dogs (or other animals & plants), and so on. Hopefully the US will see the flawed logic in approving SSA "marriages" when they realize they have to approve of everything else that comes along now that they have changed what a marriage is suppose to be about. CatherineM
I made a tux for a dog once for a wedding. He was only the best man though. Here where gay marriage is legal, we now have polygamists getting recognition. It's not the radical Mormon's in BC either. It is refugees from countries where multiple wives are allowed. Immigration can't ask them to return where they will be killed, and can't ask them to choose which wife to leave behind.

While pædophilic or beastialic marriages aren't the same as homosexual "marriages", I see no reason how those who defend homosexual "marriages" can turn around and in the next breath denounce polygamic "marriages". What's good for the goose...

It's really a shame that we play into the bizarre fetishes/illnesses of these people instead of getting them the help they deserve.

It's really quite creepy. She seems to sincerely believe that she's married to the Berlin Wall. Had a ceremony and everything. Sort of disturbing. Allowing homosexuals to "marry" doesn't logically lead to allowing different species to marry eachother.
