My friend Kamila and her husband moved here (Galveston, TX) from Poland several years ago in the middle of the summer. She didn't speak a word of English. They were placed in a dorm apartment temporarily, located about a mile away from the local grocery store. It needed a lot of cleaning, and they needed a lot of supplied and food. Not having a car, they walked to the local store while it was nearly 100 degrees and over 90% humidity. They filled the grocery cart with supplies and food and started the walk home. They had no idea that the grocery cart would lock at the end of the store's parking lot. So there they were - in the Texas summer heat - a mile from home - with a cart full of food and supplies. Kamila said she was about to cry, her husband was going to run the bags home a few at a time while she guarded the cart. A random stranger saw them and saw their distress - he gave them and their purchases a ride home and helped them bring everything inside. He's my hero. I'm puzzled why the opposition can't find something a little more substantial to wield against Obama. I mean the Republicans are bound to have investigators working around the clock.
