tinytherese
So as you can tell, my friend who was an abused runaway is a big concern of mine. I talked with Fr. about it and he said that he is basically treading on thin water right now because there is so little empirical evidence of the accusations being made about her man and his family. It won't take much to stir up division and conflict in the parish over this issue since both parties attend the parish. It's not that he doesn't believe those who accuse her man and his family of the horrible things that they've done, he just doesn't want to make matters worse. He has prayed with both parties and has told them that he and the parish community want to be there for them and want what is best for them. He is still going to the court case, but he won't show signs of siding with anyone. I can't imagine how hard this must be on him.
