My fave red wine.[/quote] I'm still experiencing the realm of wines and I have to work around my girlfriends tastes (she prefers a light white wine that tastes more like fruit punch ), but merlot is I think the favorite red wine I have had thus far. MIKolbe Posted May 16, 2009 Share Posted May 16, 2009 I would have to agree. Merlot is 'heavier' than your typical white wines, but not as rich as many of your reds... Very often they have a more complex structure, and are not overly spicy. It is a wonderful gateway between a sophisticated white and the red spectrum as a whole.
